Color Selection: What Our Window Frame Colors Say About You

Renewal by Andersen® offers a wide selection of replacement windows with frame colors that work with every exterior color palette. But have you ever wondered why certain colors appeal to you? Here’s a quick look at our frame colors and what they say about you.

Window Frame Colors

  • White – White connotes purity, cleanliness and serenity, and it goes well with almost every exterior color palette. It creates a sense of openness and, on all-white color palettes, lets you accentuate pops of color, like colorful landscaping and exterior furniture. White window frames pair well with white trim. We offer both white and canvas window frames, with hardware color to match.

  • Gray – Gray conveys different feelings depending on the shade. Mid-to-dark gray conveys a serious and modern exterior, while a light gray creates a soothing look that looks great with violets. Similar to white, gray window frames work in nearly every color palette and architectural style. Gray is especially effective as a frame color on contemporary custom windows. Our replacement windows are available in Sandtone and Terratone® grays.

  • Brown – Brown is another versatile window frame color, striking the perfect balance between drama and warmth, and is perfect for earth tone color palettes, with lots of greens and yellows. As window frames, brown is a perfect fit if you’re into handcrafted looks, such as homes based on Craftsman architecture. Brown has proven to be such a popular window frame color that we offer ours in Cocoa Bean and Dark Bronze.

  • Green – Green evokes a feeling of freshness, growth and harmony, and is the color of choice for homeowners who want vibrant color palettes. Renewal by Andersen replacement window frames are available in Forest Green. Like all our colors, Forest Green is factory-applied and, in addition to its low-maintenance properties, it doesn’t fade as much as typical vinyl window frames.

  • Black – Black evokes a feeling of mystery, drama and elegance, and looks great in urban settings, or on architectural styles that typically feature metal frames, as on Mediterranean architecture. It also highlights hardware with metallic finishes. This is why we’ve recently added black as one of our standard exterior window colors. But whatever color you choose, you can expect the same beautiful, durable and energy-efficient replacement windows that Renewal by Andersen is known for.
